True Freedom

My aim in this project is to invite the viewer to question and challenge authority and the existentialistic nature of "accepted truth" within contemporary society through the use of tableaux.

Depicting scenes of inequality, social exclusion, criminality, violence and a culture of immorality arising from today's' capitalist society.

I believe there are a lot of problems within modern day society, and these pictures are my way of trying to highlight the problems that I believe exist.
These problems cause people to lose faith in the system, and my project is about showing how this effects people in everyday modern British society.

I believe that there is a huge amount of people living blind to fact that society is governed by corruption. Society holding false ideas in regards to what freedom is and its existence in modern society.

 Society's perception of freedom originates from ideas thought up in a false society; therefore the idea of freedom does not exist as individuals interpretation of the present is formed from capitalist thinking.
Most of society's perceptions of freedom is false because society is ruled by money. Freedom to some may mean having enough money to buy anything they desire for example, when in fact I believe real freedom will come when money becomes obsolete.

The project also invites the viewer to challenge their preconceived ideas as to what is moral and immoral behavior, but also challenging their own moral values in regards to freedom and money.

The crime, greed and immorality depicted in the scenes are products of the monetary system and the main point that I want make is that the existence of monetary system whether it be in a capitalist, communist or fascist society, means that individuals have to fight with each other in order to survive.

"Greed and competition are not the result of immutable human temperament... greed and fear or scarcity are in fact being created and amplified. The direct consequence is that we have to fight with each other in order to survive".
